Week 3 – Large and Small Friendship Stars
Week 3 was the Large and Small Friendship Star Blocks. These blocks are made up of just a few half square triangles so they went together super quick.
After choosing stitching the foundation paper to the fabric, you simply cut apart the half square triangles on the solid lines. Next, I fold the paper along the stitch line and rip the papers off. I press the seams to one side and then trim off the dog ears before pressing my seams open.
After that, the assembly for week 3 was just a simple 9 patch of solid squares of background fabric and the half square triangles.

Week 4 – Pinwheel Sawtooth Star and Salem Star
Week 4’s blocks are the Pinwheel Sawtooth Star blocks and the Salem Star blocks.
The Pinwheel Sawtooth Stars use the half square triangles to give the appearance of flying geese on the outer edge with a pinwheel nestled in the middle. The Salem Star blocks give the appearance of both flying geese and a square-in-a-square center.
We are over half way done with the Triangles on a Roll Quilt Along, and my daughter has already claimed this quilt for herself.
Happy quilting!
