Hello There
I’m starting a new adventure. One to hopefully inspire. One to teach. One to make a record of the projects I’ve done, and the ones I will do.

I’ve spent much of my adult life quilting or sewing off and on. Growing up I had a grandmother who sewed doll clothes like nobody’s business. I always loved seeing the things she made. In awe of the small stitches and the way she could take a 25 cent doll from Goodwill that had no clothes and she would clean it up, dress it, and then find someone to give it a new home. I spent many weekends helping her at doll shows, selling these once forgotten dolls to a new home where someone could give them new life.
My grandmother got sick with cancer when I was in my early 20s, and I wanted to make her something. So I bought some Raggedy Ann (her favorite!) fabric at the store, cut it into squares, and hand sewed them together to make a patchwork pillow. She loved it, even though it was far from perfect.
After marrying my husband, Mark, I was introduced to the world of quilting by my mother-in-law. I adored the craftsmanship and creativity of quilting. Now years later, through many different seasons of life, raising my two children, and visiting and revisiting the hobby of quilting, I’ve taken it up the last 3 or 4 years with a passion. I also picked up the hobby of cross stitching to keep my hands busy when I’m idle.
In 2020, I began talking to my husband about how I wished I had a long arm. I didn’t want someone else to do the quilting on a top that I had spent so much time piecing myself. But I was limited by a domestic machine to do quilting with my talents. So I went on a quest of researching long arms. A few months later, I purchased a Handi Quilting Forte with Pro-Stitcher because I knew from the start I wanted to do computerized quilting.
Earlier this year, I was able to move my quilting room out of the finished basement and into my very own quilting studio above our garage. A lot of love went into making this room my very own. And I’m still working on tweaking it into the perfect work space. I can spend hours up there just working with fabric and creating.
I hope this blog will inspire you to dive in and make quilts of your own. Quilts to use yourself, quilts to share with your loved ones, and quilts to cherish and pass down through the generations. I hope to share my love for the hobby and teach you a few things along the way.
Thanks for joining me on this journey to record the creations of my heart.
