Blockheads 5 Group 2 Block 11
For block 11, I opted to do an alternative layout that I noticed on the Moda blog post. Instead of having the “streamers” with two stars, I instead made 4 stars total for the one block. I really loved the effect that the stars made and wanted more of them!

For this quilt along I am using Songbook fabrics by Fancy That Design House and am making the 12 inch quilt blocks.

Since I left out the stripes on my blocks, I had to double up on the pieces to cut for the star portions. This took a little double checking, but the block went together basically the same with the four stars instead of 2 stripes and 2 stars.

I love the look of these star blocks. I think this would make a great layout for a completely scrappy quilt. Just a whole bunch of 6 inch stars blocks.
Moda Blockheads 5 Progress Recap
I am so happy with how my blocks look in the Songbook collection by Fancy That Design House. I have kept all of my group 1 blocks to combine with my group 2 for a larger project.
