It’s June 1, so that means Stitch Maynia is over. This year I picked 5 cross stitch patterns to work on for 5 days each. Well, some of them only took 2 or 3 days to stitch completely, so I just focused on the 5 cross stitch projects.

The 5 cross stitch patterns I chose to work on were:
- Home of the Free by Primrose Cottage Stitches
- Hive Rules by Primrose Cottage Stitches
- Star Spangled Street by Primrose Cottage Stitches
- Proud and True by Susan Ache in the Summer Memories book by It’s Sew Emma
- Cherry Season by Susan Ache in the Summer Memories book by It’s Sew Emma
I’m happy to report that I finished 4 out of the 5 cross stitch charts and fully finished 2 of them into little pillows. Hopefully these two simple finishes will give you a cross stitch finishing idea that is quick and easy.
Home of the Free Cross Stitch
My Home of the Free cross stitch finishing used some scrap fabrics from my stash and piece of patriotic ribbon I had from my old scrapbooking days.
Hive Rules Cross Stitch
I didn’t complete the Hive Rules cross stitch, but I did make some solid progress on it. It’s a larger cross stitch chart than most but it’s so pretty!
Star Spangled Street
I stitched the entire Star Spangled Street cross stitch pattern by Primrose Cottage stitches. This one used a LOT of different colors but it came out so pretty. I love patriotic cross stitch.
Proud and True
The Summer Memories book by It’s Sew Emma and Susan Ache has so many sweet little patriotic cross stitch charts to chose from. I was able to fully stitch the proud and true cross stitch pattern, but I didn’t get it fully finished quite yet.
Cherry Season
This sweet little Cherry Tree only took me two days to finish cross stitching. I hope you can see how simple cross stitch finishing can be. I simply sewed some pieces of scrap fabric on the left and right sides and top stitched down a piece of red trim on top of the left side. Next I attached the scrap fabrics to the top and bottom to give the trim a finished edge since it was enclosed in the seam. After that I made it into a simple pillow using another small scrap of fabric from my stash. Super simple cross stitch finishing idea!
Now that Stitch Maynia 2023 is finished I’m excited to continue my patriotic stitching with Fat Quarter Shop for their Red, White, and June Stitching. But I’m pretty sure I’ll be squeezing in more stitching on Hive Rules.
