The Summer Memories Quilt Along to sew the Summer Picnic Quilt with Fat Quarter Shop and Susan Ache has come to an end. I’m so excited about how my quilt came out. When we first started the quilt along, I knew I didn’t have enough red, white, and blue scraps to do a full quilt. But I did have a fat quarter bundle of Flower Pot fabric by Lella Boutique that had a nice summer feel to it.

To keep some continuity to my blocks, I used the rust colors for all of the baskets. I used a variety of the neutral prints for backgrounds and purchased some additional yardage of the tans so that I could keep all of my backgrounds coordinated.
To pull the colors together, I used the multi-color floral print for the sashing and the green dot for the corner posts. In order to brighten up all of the tan and cream backgrounds, I chose the dark blue dot print for the border. I think it stands out so well against the basket quilt blocks.
The large scale floral shines on the back of the quilt. The small cross hatch long arm pantograph and green striped binding makes this quilt simply beautiful to me. I can’t wait to use this Summer Picnic Quilt for all of my summer outdoor activities.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my finished Summer Picnic Quilt from the Summer Memories Quilt Along!
