Quilting
Summer Memories Quilt Along – Fat Quarter Shop and Susan Ache
It’s week 7 for the Summer Memories Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop and Susan Ache. I only have one more block to share before the finishing of the Summer Picnic Quilt from the Summer Memories Book. This quilt along is being hosted on the Jolly Jabber, Fat Quarter Shop’s Blog.

Spring Mystery Quilt Along – Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts
Week 3 of the Spring Mystery Quilt by Edyta Sitar brings us instructions to make 20 little daisy nine-patch blocks. These were quick and easy!
You can read about these blocks in my blog post here.

Designer Mystery Quilt Month 1 – Fat Quarter Shop Exclusive
I received the fabric for the first quilt block for the 2023 Designer Mystery Quilt from Fat Quarter Shop. After a quick starch, I got right to work assembling this block and two more just like it only smaller!
I wrote another post about this quilt along earlier this week that you can find here.

Twilight Stars Quilt Along – Lisa Bongean from Primitive Gatherings
Bring on the triangle paper! I’m going to need lots of it to make these time 3/4 inch half square triangles for the Twilight Stars Quilt Along with Primitive Gatherings. Each week Lisa will announce which two blocks we will be making from the Triangle Gatherings Book. You can read more about it on her blog here.
I also posted more details on my own blocks here.

Patriotic Quilting
This week I finished two small quilt tops that were patriotic themed. The first one was a small kit that I got at the Quilt Expo I attended a couple weeks ago.

The second quilt pattern I finished was the wall hanging called Apple Pie from the 2023 Liberty Box from Fat Quarter Shop. Along with some patriotic themed notions, it included a fat quarter bundle from the Stateside collection by Sweetwater Fabrics. It finishes at 27.5″ x 36.5″.

Other Quilting Things
In other news, my husband hung up the amish built quilt hanger that I purchased at the expo as well. The arms swing side to side so I can decide how I’d like to layer my quilts against the wall. I hung it in the corner of my sewing studio to give me more options for hanging arrangements.
Long Arming
I’ve done a few client quilts this week, but also did one of my own quilts that I’m not quite ready to fully show yet. I played with the Pro-Stitcher program on my Handi Quilter long arm a bit trying to figure out how to get cross hatch quilting to line up from row to row. I did ok, but definitely need some improvement. The cross hatching came out at less than an inch!
Cross Stitching
I haven’t had as much time to cross stitch this week. And that’s ok. Sometimes you might find that you have more free time than other seasons of your life. It’s important that you remember why you have the hobbies you do. It”s not to rush through and make all the things. Even if all the things are pretty and you want to make them. 🙂
These Star Spangled Ornaments are the perfect small stitch. They are super sweet patriotic cross stitch charts that only take a few hours a piece to finish stitching.
Here is what I’ve finished so far from the booklet of 12 cross stitch ornament charts.

Whew! Busy week! I hope you find some quilting or cross stitch inspiration here my friends. Have a good week!
