Today I am sharing the blocks from the Twilight Stars Quilt Along April edition! We are nearing the end of the Twilight Stars Quilt Along that is being hosted by Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings. The supplies needed for the quilt along are few, but the blocks make a big impact with their unique half square triangle arrangements for the center of the blocks. The quilt along calls for making two blocks a week for 52 weeks, but I’ve opted to make the 8-10 blocks chosen at the end of each month.

Quilt Along Supplies
This quilt along only requires a few supplies. First is the Triangle Gatherings quilt book. This book has 100 different layout ideas using just half square triangles. You will also need half square triangle papers in the size that you need based on the quilt block size you choose to do. On Lisa Bongean’s blog, you will find instructions for 4″, 6″, 8″ or 12″ blocks. I am making the 6″ block size.
I am also using the Flying Geese foundation papers from Fat Quarter Shop to make the surrounding flying geese. This is totally a personal choice. There are many ways to make flying geese and you can use whatever method you choose. I just find the accuracy of the papers to be so easy.
The fabrics I’m using are a Bella solid white and a Free Spirit bright colors fat quarter bundle that I had in my stash.

For week 43, the block numbers are 38 and 75.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 46 and 66
Week 44 brought us the block numbers of 46 and 66 from the Triangle Gatherings quilt book.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 29 and 61
The week 45 blocks selected by Primitive Gatherings were numbers 29 and 61.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 39 and 63
Week number 46 of the quilt along, had quilters making block numbers 39 and 63.

Here is a quick look at all 8 of the Twilight Stars Quilt Along March blocks.
That’s a wrap on the Twilight Stars quilt along April blocks. One more month and I will have 100 blocks. That will be all of the block layouts from the Triangle Gatherings quilt book. At that point, I will start laying out my quilt and see if I will need to add any additional blocks or colors.
