Today I’m sharing the Twilight Stars Quilt Along February quilt blocks. The Twilight Stars Quilt Along is a year long quilt along being hosted by Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings. The supplies needed for the quilt along are few, but the blocks make a big impact with their unique half square triangle arrangements for the center of the blocks. The quilt along calls for making two blocks a week for 52 weeks, but I’ve opted to make the 8-10 blocks chosen at the end of each month.

Quilt Along Supplies
This quilt along only requires a few supplies. First is the Triangle Gatherings quilt book. This book has 100 different layout ideas using just half square triangles. You will also need half square triangle papers in the size that you need based on the quilt block size you choose to do. On Lisa Bongean’s blog, you will find instructions for 4″, 6″, 8″ or 12″ blocks. I am making the 6″ block size.
I am also using the Flying Geese foundation papers from Fat Quarter Shop to make the surrounding flying geese. This is totally a personal choice. There are many ways to make flying geese and you can use whatever method you choose. I just find the accuracy of the papers to be so easy.
The fabrics I’m using are a Bella solid white and a Free Spirit bright colors fat quarter bundle that I had in my stash.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 14 and 95
For week 34, the block numbers are 14 and 95. As I’ve found this entire quilt along, some of my points line up better than others. But with such an intricate quilt with so many pieces, I’m choosing to just let the points fall where they may. I know once the quilt is complete, the points matching or not matching will be less noticable than looking at each block individually in a close up photograph.

Week 35 brought us the block numbers of 76 and 93 from the Triangle Gatherings quilt book.

The week 36 blocks selected by Primitive Gatherings were numbers 44 and 53.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 60 and 64
Week number 37 of the quilt along, had quilters making block numbers 60 and 64.

I have 74 completed quilt blocks for my Twilight Stars quilt. At this point, I may start working ahead to finish up the remaining quilt blocks and finish this project a little early.
