It’s week 9 of the Twilight Stars Quilt Along is here! This week’s block numbers are number 21 and 23. I chose to use a royal fabric and an mint green fabric this week. I’m getting close to having one block in each color and will start having more duplicate colors soon.

Previous Quilt Blocks
Each week, two numbers are chosen from the Triangle Gatherings quilt book. Two blocks a week is a doable task for this quilt along. So far I have 18 quilt blocks made for the Twilight Stars quilt along.
Quilt Along Supplies
This quilt along only requires a few supplies. First is the Triangle Gatherings quilt book. This book has 100 different layout ideas using just half square triangles. You will also need half square triangle papers in the size that you need based on the quilt block size you choose to do. On Lisa Bongean’s blog, you will find instructions for 4″, 6″, 8″ or 12″ blocks. I am making the 6″ block size.
I am also using the Flying Geese foundation papers from Fat Quarter Shop to make the surrounding flying geese. This is totally a personal choice. There are many ways to make flying geese and you can use whatever method you choose. I just find the accuracy of the papers to be so easy.
The fabrics I’m using are a Bella solid white and a Free Spirit bright colors fat quarter bundle that I had in my stash.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 21 and 23
For week 9, the block numbers are 21 and 23.
The final quilt will be set on point with a rainbow of colors. I’m really enjoying this quilt along.
See you next week with two new blocks!
