We are on to week 3 of Moda’s Stitch Pink 2023 quilt along. The Adore Quilt Pattern and box kit from Moda is used as a quilt along for the Stitch Pink campaign to bring attention to breast cancer and to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The pattern and fabric is designed by Camille Roskelley. The 13 block pattern uses her newly released Lighthearted fabric line.

Stitch Pink 2023 Week 3 – Blocks 9-12
Week 3 is piecing blocks 9-12 from the pattern. This will finish all of the block piecing for the quilt. Next week is the sashing and finishing of the quilt top.
The quilt blocks can be made scrappy with the kit fabrics that remain after the large star half square triangles are cut for the star points on each block. I followed the designers fabric choices for a majority of my quilt blocks. I did run out of one of the prints, and substituted another pink fabric from the collection.
Block 9
Adore quilt block 9 is simple square center with flying geese pointing towards the center aqua fabric. The center quilt block is then surrounded with star points made up of solid blocks and half square triangles.
Block 10
Adore quilt block 10 is a 16 patch quilt block made of half square triangles. It is the offset with the large star points just like the other blocks.
Block 11
Adore quilt block 11 a large heart block offset by the star points. I didn’t have enough of the dark pink heart print here, so I substituted a pink floral from the collection.
Block 12
Quilt block 12 is 9 patch variation with a large center square surrounded by rectangles and corner squares. The final block is then offset by the same star points as the other blocks.
Tips for Moda Stitch Pink 2023 Quilt
Here are a few tips to help you get more accurate blocks.
- Read the pattern through a couple times before starting. I made a couple cutting errors, but fortunately was able to work with what I had. I did run out of one of the colors to do it exactly like the pattern, so I substituted a different print.
- Starch – There is enough fabric to starch in the kit. I find spray starching all of my pieces before cutting helps me have more accurate piecing throughout the quilt making process. There is also much less fraying of the fabric.
- Take your time to make sure you are trimming the half square triangles down to the accurate size.
- Use pins to line up seams that intersect before piecing the block together.
- Don’t worry if there are small discrepancies in the final block size. The sashing between the blocks will help minimize those errors.
