Adore Quilt – A Finished Stitch Pink 2023 Quilt

Sharing is caring!

We are on the final of Moda’s Stitch Pink 2023 quilt along using the Adore quilt kit. The Stitch Pink campaign is an annual event to bring attention to breast cancer and to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The pattern and fabric is designed by Camille Roskelley. The 13 block pattern uses her newly released Lighthearted fabric line.

Stitch Pink 2023 Week 4 – Sashing and Corner Posts

For week 4, sashing and corner posts were added to all of the blocks.

The first row was made up of blocks 1-4. The sashing was added between each of the blocks and then a row of alternating sashing and corner posts was added to the top and bottom of the row of blocks. The same was repeated for the bottom row with blocks 9-12. For the middle section, two of the remaining small blocks were stacked on top of each other with sashing between. The sides were then edged with sashing and border columns. The same thing was repeated with the last two blocks. These stacked blocks were then added to each side of the large center star. Finally, the rows were all sewn together in the final 84″ square quilt.

Long Arming the Adore Quilt

To finish the quilt, I used a white and red 108″ wide back fabric from the Lighthearted collection. I added a personalized quilt label from the club offered by Sweetwater Fabric. The pantograph I chose was an edge to edge connected heart pattern. I offset the rows by half so that the hearts would be staggered in each row. I use Glide thread for my quilting and 80/20 Quilter’s Dream batting.

Binding the Quilt

The binding fabric is a red check that is included in the quilt. I prefer to use a 2.5″ single fold binding. The Scant Trimmer and Binding Boss tools by Gina Tell of Thread Graffiti is hands down the easiest, no measure, method for quilt binding. I do prefer to machine bind most of my quilts so I sew my binding strip down to the backing side of the quilt and fold it over to the front to sew down. This way the front of the quilt has a nice finished look.

Final Thoughts on the Adore Quilt Kit

I’m going to be honest and say at first I was going to skip this quilt kit. I loved the fabrics. And I loved the pattern. But I already have so many quilt alongs going and other quilts in progress. I also have purchased the Shine Bright quilt kit from Fat Quarter Shop that uses the same fabric collection.

When I saw the kit in my local quilt shop, I went ahead and bought it. I am so glad that I did. This quilt was one of those quick easy wins that you sometimes need. A project that could pretty much be made start to finish in a long weekend or two. If you are looking for a quick and easy quilt, I highly recommend the Adore quilt kit or pattern.
