It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve done a Sunday Summary for quilting and cross stitch inspiration, so I have a lot to share this week!

Summer Memories Quilt Along – Fat Quarter Shop and Susan Ache
Week 6 of the Summer Memories Quilt Along is here! Only a few more weeks until we have all of the basket blocks done and get to the finishing of the Summer Picnic Quilt in the Summer Memories book by Susan Ache and It’s Sew Emma. Fat Quarter Shop has been hosting this quilt along on their blog as well.

Spring Mystery Quilt Along – Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts
Last week was the kick off for the Spring Mystery Quilt Along hosted by Edita Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts. For this quilt along, I’m using blue and white fabrics from a bundle purchased from Laundry Basket Quilts.
Week 1 of the Spring Mystery Quilt Along was 4 large and 4 small leaf quilt blocks.
Week 2 had instructions to make 12 blue bonnet flower quilt blocks.
Twilight Stars Quilt Along – Primitive Gatherings
Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings is going to be hosting a Twilight Stars Quilt Along beginning in the middle of June. This quilt along will run for a year making two blocks a week using the Triangle Gatherings book and Triangle paper. To get ready for this quilt along I am using two fat quarter bundles I already had: one is a solid color bundle from Free Spirit Fabrics and the other is a black and grey bundle from Kona fabrics.
Mixing this with a white background quilting fabric, I think this quilt will be stunning with all of the tiny half square triangles. I’m doing the 6″ blocks for the quilt along and that uses 3/4″ half square triangles.
I started working ahead at getting my fabrics cut and the triangle paper sewn onto the fabrics. I’m also using flying geese foundation paper from Fat Quarter Shop to make the flying geese for the completed block.
Fruit Salad Blocks – Fig Tree Quilt Co.
I squeezed a couple of fruit quilt blocks in this week from the Fruit Salad quilt book. I made 4 orange quilt blocks and 3 cherry quilt blocks.
Quilt Shop Hop
Last week many of my local quilt shops were participating in a Quilt Shop Hop. I went to all 9 stores in one day! Here is a look at some of the things I purchased.
Our Flag Stands for Freedom quilt kit by Primitive Gatherings ~ Firecracker Table Runner Kit by Orphan Quilt Designs ~ Charming Panel kit by Lavender Lime using Harvest Wishes by Deb Strain

Cross Stitch
Hive Rules – Primrose Cottage Stitches
Slowly but surely I’m making progress on the Hive Rules cross stitch chart by Primrose Cottage Stitches. This is a really large chart and while I feel like I should be getting more done, I’m embracing that it’s a slow stitch for me. I also ran out of a couple of floss colors and had to hunt down more. I’m still missing one color that I need to get more of.
Star Spangled Ornaments – Fat Quarter Shop
For the month of June, Fat Quarter Shop is hosting a Red, White, and June stitch along. I wanted to participate, but just received the cross stitch charts and Classic Color Works floss in the mail this week for the projects I wanted to do. One of them was the Star Spangled Ornaments. These are small stitches to finish into round tart tins. I already got one of them finished in just a couple hours.
I hope you find some inspiration in my projects and progress from the last two weeks. Happy quilting!
