It’s time for me to share my progress on the Twilight Stars quilt along January blocks! For this quilt along, two block numbers per week from the Triangle Gatherings book are shared on Lisa Bongean’s blog.āWhen I first started, I was making two blocks per week as scheduled.āHowever, the weekly schedule was getting to be a little difficult for me to make and post updates each week on my blocks. So instead I have switched to a monthly schedule of posting my progress for this quilt along. At the end of each month, I will share the 8-10 quilt blocks I’ve made throughout the month.

Quilt Along Supplies
This quilt along only requires a few supplies. First is the Triangle Gatherings quilt book. This book has 100 different layout ideas using just half square triangles. You will also need half square triangle papers in the size that you need based on the quilt block size you choose to do. On Lisa Bongean’s blog, you will find instructions for 4″, 6″, 8″ or 12″ blocks. I am making the 6″ block size.
I am also using the Flying Geese foundation papers from Fat Quarter Shop to make the surrounding flying geese. This is totally a personal choice. There are many ways to make flying geese and you can use whatever method you choose. I just find the accuracy of the papers to be so easy.
The fabrics I’m using are a Bella solid white and a Free Spirit bright colors fat quarter bundle that I had in my stash.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 94 and 97
For week 30, the block numbers are 94 and 97. I’m still not 100 percent happy with how the points come together on these block centers.āI know that when the blocks are all put into the finished quilt the mistakes will be less noticeable.āThere are a lot of seams in such a small block and even pressing open, they are pretty bulky.āI won’t let that deter me though, because the colors and variety of block designs are still really pretty.ā
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 70 and 99
Week 31 brought us the block numbers of 70 and 99 from the Triangle Gatherings quilt book.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 87 and 98
The week 32 blocks selected by Primitive Gatherings were numbers 87 and 98.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 17 and 85
Week number 33 of the quilt along, had quilters making block numbers 17 and 85.
