It’s time the Fat Quarter Shop Designer Mystery month 9 block. Each month, participants receive a package of fabric and a quilt pattern for the block of the month from Fat Quarter Shop. Every month’s block is designed by a different quilter in the industry. This month is the Azalea block designed by Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic.

This year’s Designer Mystery quilt features the Sunnyside fabric collection by Camille Roskelley. The fabric collection is so pretty and coordinates well with several other recent collections by Camille.
Designer Mystery Month 9 – The Azalea Block
Extra Quilt Blocks
This year, to help use up the extra fabric from the Designer Mystery kit, Fat Quarter Shop has provided cutting instructions for additional block sizes each month. The dedicated Designer Mystery Facebook page has cutting instructions for a 6″ and 3″ block. So far I’ve been able to make both of the extra sizes and STILL have extra fabric every month. Each month before making the quilt blocks, I pull out any scraps of the same print I have left from previous months. This way I’m making efficient use of any leftovers. This will leave me with the larger pieces as leftovers at the end of the quilt along.
