Getting Ready for the Strippy Spools Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop

Sharing is caring!

I’m excited to join the Strippy Spools Quilt Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop using the brand new Strippy Spools pattern by It’s Sew Emma. This quilt is jelly roll friendly and also a great option for scrap lovers looking to make something fun and colorful.

For my version, I’m using a jelly roll from the Cali & Co collection by Corey Yoder, paired with Bella Solid in Carnation for the spools and Magic Dot white-on-white by Lella Boutique for the background. I love how these colors play together—soft, summery, and full of texture.

All of my fabric is now cut and ready to sew! There’s something so satisfying about a fresh stack of pieces organized and waiting to be stitched. I can’t wait to see how these blocks start coming together.

Follow along with me and other quilters as we make the Strippy Spools quilt on the Fat Quarter Shop’s blog each week. There you will find inspiration of different fabrics and then hop in and join us!

This is going to be such a cheerful quilt, and I’m looking forward to sewing two spool blocks at a time throughout the quilt along. Stay tuned—I’ll be sharing my progress in the Strippy Spools quilt along right here as I go!
