It’s time for Month 8 of the Designer Mystery 2024 Quilt-Along with Fat Quarter Shop! This month’s block is Welcome Home, designed by Corey Yoder of Coriander Quilts. The Welcome Home Quilt Block
Working with the striped fabric this month took a little extra care—I wanted the stripes to run in the correct direction across all the pieces. It took a bit more attention during the cutting process, but it was well worth it. The stripes give the block such a clean, polished look that adds extra interest to the final design.
Designer Mystery 2024 Month 8
This year’s Designer Mystery quilt along is super easy to assemble as you go. After piecing this block into the house setting, it felt like a perfect fit for the quilt’s theme. The gentle colors and inviting design made this month’s block extra satisfying to complete. One more block and I can complete row 3!
Tips for Month 8’s Block
- Take your time when cutting striped fabrics—make sure the stripes run consistently across each piece to maintain visual flow in the finished block.
- Use pins or fabric clips to match stripes at seam lines for clean, professional results.
- Double-check the direction of half square triangles in the corners to keep the block balanced.
