I’m so excited to share Month 2 of the 100 Acre Wood Quilt Along hosted by Art East Quilting Co. This month’s Piglet quilt block is every bit as charming as you’d expect! I love seeing each character come to life with every new block in this quilt along.

About the 100 Acre Wood Quilt Along
The 100 Acre Wood quilt along is a beautifully designed project featuring adorable pieced blocks that bring Winnie the Pooh and his friends to life. The quilt kit I’m using was purchased through Art East Quilting Co., but Riley Blake also offers kits through various quilt shops, including Fat Quarter Shop. The finished quilt measures 70” x 70”, though Art East is also releasing an alternative pattern for those who want to upsize their quilt to a queen-size version with additional background fabric.
One of the things I love about this quilt kit is that it’s generously cut, leaving extra fabric for each block. I decided to take advantage of this by purchasing an extra background fabric in a slightly darker shade called “Bear Lake” and cutting two sets of blocks each month. This will allow me to make two finished 100 Acre Wood quilts, making great use of the provided fabric while minimizing leftover scraps.

Month 2: Piglet Quilt Block
The Piglet quilt block features vintage-style Piglet standing confidently on a tipped-over hunny pot. A whimsical bee flutters nearby, adding a touch of movement and charm. Piglet’s classic striped shirt makes him look extra dapper, and I love how the fabric choices from the Riley Blake kit highlight all the sweet details. While the block has quite a few pieces, Art East’s patterns are written so well that it comes together smoothly.
Embroidery Details
Throughout the 100 Acre Wood quilt, there are small embroidery details that bring the quilt to life. I’ll be saving the embroidery for the end, but this block will have the word “Hunny” stitched onto the pot, along with Piglet’s adorable curly tail. I’m still making two quilts by cutting double blocks with extra background fabric I purchased in “Bear Lake”—using the generous print fabrics provided in the kit for both versions.
Looking Ahead
I continue to be impressed with how much extra fabric is included in the kit. It’s allowed me to reduce waste by making two quilts at once and use up more of my stash —my ongoing goal for this year. Making the Piglet quilt block was a true delight, and I can’t wait to see how all the characters look together in the final quilt.
Are you participating in the 100 Acre Wood Quilt Along? I’d love to hear how your Piglet quilt block turned out! Let me know in the comments if you’re quilting along or planning to make this quilt in the future.
Happy quilting!
