We’ve made it to Month 6 of the 100 Acre Wood Quilt Along, and this month’s Eeyore quilt block features everyone’s favorite gloomy friend—Eeyore. Art East Quilting Co. truly outdid themselves with this design. Eeyore’s sweet and slightly sad expression is perfectly captured, and the block has such whimsical detail!

About the 100 Acre Wood Quilt Along
The 100 Acre Wood quilt along is a beautifully designed project featuring adorable pieced blocks that bring Winnie the Pooh and his friends to life. The quilt kit I’m using was purchased through Art East Quilting Co., but Riley Blake also offers kits through various quilt shops, including Fat Quarter Shop. The finished quilt measures 70” x 70”, though Art East is also releasing an alternative pattern for those who want to upsize their quilt to a queen-size version with additional background fabric.
One of the things I love about this quilt kit is that it’s generously cut, leaving extra fabric for each block. I decided to take advantage of this by purchasing an extra background fabric in a slightly darker shade called “Bear Lake” and cutting two sets of blocks each month. This will allow me to make two finished 100 Acre Wood quilts, making great use of the provided fabric while minimizing leftover scraps.

Month 6: Eeyore Quilt Block
In this block, Eeyore has once again lost his tail—it’s dangling in the sky while a honey bee buzzes nearby. Another bee friend is fluttering close to the ground, giving the whole block a fun, playful feeling. I’ll be adding some embroidery at the end to show the curly motion of one of the bees.
As always, I’m piecing two blocks each month using my extra background fabric in “Bear Lake” and maximizing the use of fabric from the kit. I may need to substitute a few small pieces, but overall, it’s helping me reduce scraps and stay organized.
Looking Ahead
This was such a fun block to make! Even though it has a few more small pieces, the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The Eeyore quilt block is a definite favorite and brings a lot of character to this quilt.
