Shine Bright Sampler Quilt Month 2
The Shine Bright Sampler Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop is a fun project happening from November 2023 to October 2024. They’ve revamped the old Shine On Sampler Quilt that was originally published in The Bonnie & Camille Quilt Bee book with the new Lighthearted fabric collection by Camille Roskelley. This new coloring of an old quilt pattern creates a refreshing twist. The quilt will be a big one, with 29 blocks and a generous size of 68.5″ x 80.5″.

Shine Bright Month 2 Block Creation Process:
Bloom Block
The Bloom Block is a cute flower block that is pretty large at 10.5″ x 20.5″. It was made with a pink flower center and red leaves. It reminds me of the coneflowers in my summer garden.
The Butterfly Block
The next block for the month was the Butterfly Block. This block was super straightforward with four “butterflies” in a spiral four patch block. The center of the butterflies was a rectangle and the wings were also rectangles but for these we did sew and flip corners to give the appearance of wings attached to the body.
Celebrate Block
Lastly, the Celebrate Block is a fun star block. We made two of these blocks for the quilt. They are made up of half square triangles, squares, and hourglass blocks to complete the layout.
Shine Bright Sampler Quilt Along Month 2
The four quilt blocks of Month 2 of the Shine Bright Sampler Quilt Along were fun to make. I like that the blocks aren’t super complicated skill wise, but they are unique and sweet. This quilt is going to be so pretty when it is finished. There are so many quilts and projects in The Bonnie & Camille Quilt Bee book that are similar in skill and design. I highly recommend this book for its many beautiful quilt projects.
