Quilting
Triangles on a Roll Quilt Along
This week, I worked on the Triangles on a Roll Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop. It’s week 5 of the quilt along using Triangles on a Roll foundation papers. I’m using a fat quarter bundle of Folktale fabric by Lella Boutique. This week, there were 4 blocks to make; two Barn Star blocks and two Puzzle Star blocks.
Barn Star Sampler
I also finished Block 4 of the Barn Star Sampler. This is another quilt along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop. It uses the Barn Star Sampler book by Shelley Cavanna. Block 4 was the Tulip Star. It is a larger block measuring 16″ x 16″. For the sampler quilt you make two of these blocks. I am using two coordinating fabric lines from Sweetwater: Renew and Spring Chicken.
Sew Samplers
In the past, I was a subscriber to the Sew Sampler box from Fat Quarter Shop. This monthly subscription includes a fabric bundle, an exclusive pattern, a few notions, and a block of the month pattern card. I subscribed for just over a year and collected quite a few boxes with projects I didn’t keep up with.
I’ve been slowly working through these smaller projects. This past week, I was able to completely the Longarm quilting on the Unraveled pattern. This pattern used two 5″ Charm Packs with the fabric line The Seamstress by Laundry Basket Quilts. I also got the quilt bound and completely finished. While this fabric is lovely, and I adore the way the quilting on it looks, I plan on donating this small quilt to my local Humane Society for their online fundraising auction.
The pantograph is Flowers Rise Again by My Creative Stitches.
I also started on another Sew Sampler project called Shooting Stars. This quilt pattern uses a petite jelly roll and background fabric.

OTHER QUILTING THINGS
I also starched a half yard bundle of Fruit Cocktail fabric by Fig Tree. This fabric is so vibrant and beautiful. I also have a copy of the Fruit Salad book and can’t to make a few of the quilts in the book. I don’t know which one to pick first!
Sunday Summary Week 1 Cross Stitch
I was able to stitch a little bit this week. I finished the Hello Summer pattern by Primrose Cottage Stitches. I stitched it with the called for colors on 25 count Overcast by Lori Holt
I also kitted up a few things to do for Stitch May-nia. I plan to do similar to Nichol Spohr and stitch 5 for 5. I will work on 5 different cross stitch patterns for 5 days each. This gives me a little wiggle room for the days I can’t stitch.
The 5 things I will work on in May are:
Home of the Free by Primrose Cottage Stitches
Hive Rules by Primrose Cottage Stitches
Star Spangled Street by Primrose Cottage Stitches
Cherry Season by Susan Ache found in the Summer Memories book
Proud and True by Susan Ache found in the Summer Memories book
That about wraps up this week’s Sunday Summary week 1. I have a lot lined up for May and I’m pretty excited about it.
Happy Sewing!
