Week 8 of the Twilight Stars Quilt Along is here! This week’s block numbers are number 5 and 8. I chose to use a blue fabric and an aqua fabric this week. I’m getting close to having one block in each color and will start having more duplicate colors soon.

Quilt Along Supplies
This quilt along only requires a few supplies. First is the Triangle Gatherings quilt book. This book has 100 different layout ideas using just half square triangles. You will also need half square triangle papers in the size that you need based on the quilt block size you choose to do. On Lisa Bongean’s blog, you will find instructions for 4″, 6″, 8″ or 12″ blocks. I am making the 6″ block size.
I am also using the Flying Geese foundation papers from Fat Quarter Shop to make the surrounding flying geese. This is totally a personal choice. There are many ways to make flying geese and you can use whatever method you choose. I just find the accuracy of the papers to be so easy.
The fabrics I’m using are a Bella solid white and a Free Spirit bright colors fat quarter bundle that I had in my stash.
Twilight Stars Quilt Blocks 5 and 8
For week 8, the block numbers are 5 and 8. This week was a struggle bus for me for some reason. I redid a few seams and then decided good enough was good enough. When the final blocks are all in the finished quilt, no-one will notice except maybe me.
I love the vibrancy of the colors of this week’s quilt blocks. The final quilt is going to be so colorful.
See you next week with two new blocks!
