We’ve made it to the final block in the Jolly Bar 5 Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop! Block 10 is the XOXO block—a sweet and fitting design to close out this sampler full of seasonal charm and creativity.

About the XOXO Block
You’ll find the XOXO block on page 78 of the Jolly Bar Book Vol. 5. It finishes at 16.5 inches square and uses four Jolly Bar rectangles along with background fabric.
This block uses half square triangles and four-patch units, similar to Timberland Roses and Variations. What makes XOXO unique is the layout of the four quadrants, which are arranged to form a clear X shape across the block—adding a bold, graphic element to this final pieced section of the quilt.
My Fabric Choices
For the XOXO block, I selected four prints from the Berry & Pine collection by Lella Boutique, once again aiming for a mix of reds, darker and lighter greens. The strong lines of this block layout gave me the opportunity to really play with contrast.
The Christmas Magic Dot background fabric ties everything together, just as it has across all the blocks in this sampler.
This block was a joy to put together—simple units, but a bold finish thanks to the thoughtful quadrant arrangement. It feels like a perfect closing chapter before the final assembly of the quilt top.

That’s Block 10 of the Jolly Bar 5 Quilt Along, and now every block is complete! I’ve had so much fun making each one, and this final design adds the perfect pop to round out the sampler.
