About the Timberland Roses Block
You’ll find the Timberland Roses block on page 66 of the Jolly Bar Book Vol. 5. It finishes at 16.5 inches square and uses four Jolly Bar rectangles along with background fabric.
This block combines four-patch units and half square triangles, arranged in a layout that creates a lovely, petal-like symmetry. The classic piecing techniques come together to form a block that feels traditional but still fresh—perfect for showing off some favorite fabrics.

My Fabric Choices
For this block, I chose four prints from the Berry & Pine collection by Lella Boutique, making sure to include a mix of reds, greens, and low volume prints to give contrast within both the four-patch and HST sections. The combination creates a nice visual rhythm across the block.
I used the Christmas Magic Dot background fabric again for consistency throughout the quilt, and I love how it continues to add a festive sparkle without overpowering the design.
The construction of this block came together smoothly with its simple shapes. I found it helpful to lay out all the units before sewing to keep the four-patch and triangle sections oriented correctly. Once stitched, the block has a lovely balance and charm—just like a rose opening up.

A Garden Touch in the Sampler
That’s it for Block 7 of the Jolly Bar 5 Quilt Along! Timberland Roses is a beautiful addition that blends traditional elements with a soft, seasonal flair. I’m loving how each new block adds more personality to this quilt.
