I had a lot of leftover Sincerely Yours fabric I had from the 2021 Moda Stitch Pink quilt. I sorted them out and cut them down into 2.5″ strips first. I found that I had so many scraps that I could make more blocks than the pattern called for and make a king size quilt to use on my bed around Valentine’s Day.
Making the Scrap Quilt
The quilt comes together really fast if you cut the strips slightly longer than the pattern calls for. I then stitched the strips together into groups of 5 and trimmed those sets down to the size needed before adding the bottom sew and flip corners and the top row of smaller strips with sew and flip corners that make up the top of the heart.
I made 39 quilt blocks for the king sized quilt. I used approximately 6 yards of Beyond Bella in Steel.

After that it was just putting together the hearts with snowballed corners and adding some sashing and borders. The blocks came together so fast by strip piecing the same size strips over and over.
Finishing the Easy Scrap Quilt
To finish the quilt, the blocks are sewn into staggered rows and an outer boarder is added. I opted to use a 108″ heart print backing from the Lighthearted collection by Camille Roskelley. I also added a quilt label from the label club by Sweetwater Fabric Co. For batting, I used 80/20 Quilter’s Dream batting.
My HandiQuilter Forte made long arming the quilt so easy with a pantograph called Crop Circles from My Creative Stitches.
The finished quilt is so pretty! And I used up nearly all of the scraps I had of the Sincerely Yours fabric collection. This makes me so happy to have another usable quilt and less scraps in my quilt room by making this easy scrap quilt.
